NASA interrupted the broadcast of spacewalk to announce the death of a Russian astronaut
NASA interrupted the live broadcast of two American astronauts in space to announce the death of Russian cosmonaut Alexei Leonov. He was the first person to go into outer space, writes Voice of America.
Today, astronauts Andrew Morgan and Christina Koch went into outer space to replace the batteries that power the orbital laboratory. This was the second of five planned space missions this month in space. However, the live broadcast of their assignment was interrupted by a photograph of Leonov that appeared on the screens.

Soon on the official NASA twitter wrote:
“We mourn the loss of the legendary Roscosmos cosmonaut Alexei Leonov, who became the first person to go into space on March 18, 1965.
His daring venture into the vacuum of space marked the beginning of off-board activity, making today's servicing of the International Space Station possible."

Alexei Leonov died in the 86 year of life.
It is reported that he was ill for several years. The first spacewalk lasting 12 minutes and 9 seconds Leonov made in March 1965 of the year.
