NASA canceled the first in the history of the two women in outer space due to the lack of the necessary spacesuits

The US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has canceled the first-ever appearance of two female astronauts in open space, because there was only one suit of the appropriate size on the ISS.

March 29 American astronauts Anne McClain and Christina Koch had to simultaneously go into outer space to continue the installation of solar panels that provide the ISS with energy, writes Rtvi.

22 March, McClain began doing this work with her colleague Tyler Hague. They spent about seven hours outside the space station.

After that, McClain said that the top of the suit is medium sized. But for 29 March, they will not be able to prepare two such sets. Therefore, the only suit suitable for both women is Koch, who will go into outer space with Hague.

Initially, NASA planned that Koch would put a larger spacesuit on. According to a representative of the Space Agency Brandy Dean, NASA in the selection of kits comes from what the astronauts were training on Earth. He added that in space in zero gravity, a person may need a different size spacesuit.

McClain was the thirteenth woman who went into outer space; 29 March Koch will be the fourteenth.

Historical spacewalk wanted to to coincide with the "Women's Month" (Women's History Month), which is held annually in the USA, Great Britain and Australia in March, in order to emphasize the role and importance of women in history and the world.
