US Medical Services Chief Assailed Passenger aboard Delta

The head of the United States Medical Service described how he provided emergency assistance on board the Delta flight.

Airline Delta said that the incident occurred on a 1827 flight that was heading from Fort Lauterdale, Fla., to Atlanta. Before takeoff, the crew had to send the plane back to the gate after the passenger became ill.

A spokesman for the US Department of Health and Human Services said ABC Newsthat the flight crew asked if there was a doctor on board when the passenger lost consciousness on board. Then Adams, the head of the medical service, intervened. He was helped by two nurses.
