Elections to the World Zionist Congress have begun: how and who to vote for
Elections have begun for the 39th World Zionist Congress (WZC), the international Jewish parliament that directs budgets to the world's major Jewish organizations: Sochnut, the Jewish National Land Fund, and the World Zionist Organization, and determines the future of Israel and Jews around the world.

The World Zionist Congress controls a budget of over $1,5 billion, influencing Israel's security, Jewish education, and the development and security of Jewish communities around the world.
Elections to this organization are an important event in the life of Jews. If you are eligible to vote, you should do so.
Voting details:
- Who can vote: American Jews aged 18+.
- When: March 10 – May 4, 2025.

There is a $5 voter registration fee to cover the administrative costs of conducting the election.
Russian-speaking Jews of America are represented in Congress only by American Forum for Israel (AFI) — No. 21 on the list of candidates.
AFI has represented American Jewry in the World Zionist Congress since 2015 and actively promotes the interests of the Russian-speaking Jewish community both in the United States and abroad.
What is he doing American Forum for Israel
- Organizes events at UN headquarters to promote the interests of the Jewish community on the international stage.
- Raised hundreds of thousands of dollars to support important initiatives in Israel:
- installation of bomb shelters in the children's department of Barzilai Hospital in Ashkelon;
- mobile bomb shelters in southern Israel;
- sponsoring the purchase of computers for schools in Sderot.
- Conducts private Jewish events at the New York City Mayor's Office and maintains working relationships with members of the New York State Assembly.
- Participated in Jewish conferences in the US Congress.
- Collaborates with the Jewish Club of the New York City Council and the Association of Russian-Speaking Officers of the United States.
- Worked with the International March of the Living, where 40 UN ambassadors took part in a memorial trip to Auschwitz.
- Funded a program to support lone IDF soldiers who have no immediate family in Israel.
In the future, American Forum for Israel will seek:
- Increasing the budget for Russian-speaking Jewish communities in the United States.
- Expanding land acquisitions in Judea and Samaria.
- Additional funding for the development of Israel's peripheral regions, including Judea and Samaria.
- Increasing aid to repatriates from the United States.
- Strengthening right-wing conservative positions in information campaigns to counter left-wing narratives.
- Developing strategies to return hostages - without catastrophic deals that strengthen the terrorists' position.
- Plans to defeat Hamas, Hezbollah and weaken Iran's position.
- Strengthening Israel's sovereignty and control over Jerusalem.
- A final solution to the disputed lands with the Bedouins in the south, ensuring the interests of the state without territorial concessions.
- Promoting Jewish pride and national identity through Jewish education in the United States.
