An angry zebra attacked a cyclist in California: he miraculously managed to escape
A cyclist in the mountains of California was chased by an angry zebra. He was driving through a mountain range on California's central coast when he collided with an animal. Writes about it SFGate.
Marcos Chavez, 48, from the small coastal town of Carpenteria, was driving a familiar route for a typical 4-hour drive.
Driving through the Vest Camino Cielo, a massive trail through the Santa Ynes Mountains, Chavez encountered a zebra. She seemed crazy to him.
“As soon as I turned, the zebra kind of freaked out,” he said. “She heard me, she saw me, and she kept glaring at me.”

He was afraid that if he passed her on a bicycle, the animal would chase him. Chavez tried to drive past - and he was right: the artiodactyl began to pursue him.
“The zebra ran at me,” Chavez said.
But, fortunately, the animal stumbled and Chavez managed to escape.
“She took three steps, but then she slipped and fell,” he explained.

Where the zebra came from is unknown, as well as what happened to it. But speculation is rampant in the Santa Barbara community about the animal and its owners.
On Reddit, a user posted a video of a zebra grazing on West Camino Cielo in May. Followers immediately identified her as Maynard, with one describing the animal as a "friendly" creature.
Until earlier this month, it was possible to book an appointment on Airbnb with not only a zebra, but also two llamas at an “eco-friendly” ranch. Maynard is described as a "free-roaming domestic zebra". But the listing was soon removed from Airbnb.
