Resident Rights Group JustFix.nyc has created interactive map, where you can monitor how homeowners evict tenants, reports Gothamist.
According to the map, tenants in the vicinity suffer the most. Crown Heights and Bushwick. So, according to a map created by developers from Brooklyn, 2013 2015 people were evicted in 450-000 year.
ProPublica found out that developers openly violated the laws on apartments with a stable rent, which prompted long-term tenants to leave their quarters due to the rapidly growing rent.
According to a study ProPublicapublished last year, about a third of New Yorkers spend half their income on rent. The city recorded one of the highest rates of homeless since the Great Depression.
This year, the Rental Management Board was unable to vote for a law on freezing rents for the third time, and instead raised it to 2%.
