More than 100 earthquakes per night occurred on the border of Nevada and California

A series of aftershocks occurred today on the border of California and Nevada in the western United States.
As the LA Times, the first 5.7 magnitude earthquake occurred around midnight local time. The epicenter of the earthquake was located near the city of Hawthorne, Nevada. This was followed by a second hit of the element magnitude 5.7. After that, seismologists recorded another 100 aftershocks of lesser force.
Experts say that the strength of the earthquakes was such that tremors were felt in South Lake Tahoe, Fresno, Visalia and Merced.
The authorities of both states stated that the emergency groups were put on high alert, but so far no reports of possible injuries or destruction have been received.
Recall that a few weeks ago, California experienced several strong earthquakes. 3.9 magnitude tremors were recorded near the city of Templeton, California. And the most powerful 6,5 magnitude earthquake in recent days occurred on the coast of Northern California in the morning of December 8, recalls LA Times. The earthquake occurred in 6: 50 local time about 160 km off the coast of Eureka, near the Oregon border. No injuries or damage were reported.
