A plane crashed in Hawaii: no one survived. VIDEO

A small twin-engine plane that was used to transport paratroopers crashed on June 21 near the Dillingham airfield in Mokulea on the Hawaiian island of Oahu. All nine people on board died.

According to officials, not far from the scene were members of the families of paratroopers flying in an airplane, writes Fox News.

“In my 44 years as a firefighter in Hawaii, this is the most tragic incident,” said Honolulu Fire Chief Manuel Neves.

The Hawaii Department of Transportation confirmed on Twitter that there were nine people on board. This is a small auxiliary aircraft of American production.

Police said that by the time the first rescuers arrived, the plane was completely engulfed in flames. The smoke from the crash site was reportedly visible several kilometers away.

Around 14: 24 on the Dillingham airfield were caused by 14 units of equipment and 39 man firefighters. Captain Kevin Mokulehua said the fire was localized in 20 minutes. The department’s helicopter also conducted an aerial search for debris and other physical evidence that could help determine the cause of the crash.

Neves confirmed that the plane was carrying parachutists and relatives of some of them could see the accident. Officials did not publish the names of the dead and are working to verify the name of the airline.

“I am closely following the tragic events at Dillingham Airfield,” Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell said on Twitter. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims’ family and friends.”

It was unclear whether the plane took off or landed at the time of the crash. Officials closed the Farrington Highway for the duration of the investigation. Initially it was reported that there were six people on board, later it became known about nine.
