'We will convert your children': San Francisco gay choir recorded satirical song, but not everyone understood the joke
The Gay Choir of San Francisco, California, was covered by a wave of negative reaction from Internet users to an ironic song performed by them. What is sung in it, the publication told Fox News.
People reacted negatively to the video of the song sung by gays that they would "instill honesty, fairness and tolerance in children."
“You think we will convert your children,” one choir member sings. “It’s funny, but this time you’re right.”
“We will convert your children to another faith. This will happen gradually. Quiet and unnoticeable. And you almost won't notice it. You can keep them away from discos, warn them about San Francisco. Make them wear pleated pants. We do not care. We will convert your children. We will make them tolerant and fair,” the song says.
It also contains these words: “We will convert your children. Someone has to teach them not to hate. We follow them. We are following your children. "

“Your children will care about justice for others,” the chorus echoes. “Your children will work to convert all their sisters and brothers.” Then we are almost sure that soon your children will begin to convert you too. But you don’t have to worry because there’s nothing wrong with being on our side.”
The video received a lot of criticism from conservatives. "It sounds like a cult, doesn't it?" — writes one of the users.
"It is unacceptable!" — Bridget Gabriel is outraged on Twitter.
Ohio Republican MP Christina said, "They are singing pompously about undermining traditional family values."
According to The Post Millennial, the choir closed the video after it received 88 likes and 5000 dislikes. The group said it made the video private out of concerns for the safety of its members. Although the original was removed, the footage appeared on other YouTube and Twitter pages.
The choir members commented on the negative reaction to their video.

“The far-right conservative media found our video and took the text out of context to illustrate their narratives to suit their intolerant and hateful needs,” the statement said.
They explained that the video was clearly "humorous", but in response "threats of harm" poured in.
The performers, in their defense, declared: “After decades, when children were instilled and taught intolerance of everyone who is“ other ”, it is our turn. We are dedicated to becoming role models. We show that it is possible to love everyone and spread messages of love, tolerance and tolerance through our music. "
But there were also those who understood the message of the song.
“For those who don’t understand, homophobes like to say that gays are trying to turn children into gays. This is a kind of satirical response, but also demonstrates how stupid it is to think that a man who loves another man is evil and is going to hurt children. It's irony. This is a way to show that the younger generation will grow up to be more tolerant of others, even if you haven't noticed it. And that’s a good thing,” writes Theo Stevenson.
