A man burst onto the stage of a beauty contest and broke the crown of the winner: he was angry that his wife got second place

On May 27, the enraged husband of an LGBTQIAP+ beauty pageant contestant in Brazil stormed the stage, stole the winner's crown, and violently threw it on the ground after his wife was awarded the runner-up award, reports New York Post.

Member's husband Miss Gay Mato Grosso 2023 Natalie Becker, who represented the city of Cuiabá, barbarously interrupted the coronation ceremony of the winner Emannuelli Belini, municipality of Varzea Grande.

Just as the shimmering tiara was about to be placed on Belini's head, Becker's hot-tempered husband yanked it out of the contestant's hands and hurled it onto the stage floor.

Miss Cuiaba's husband, who stole the crown, whose name remains unknown, then picked up the crown from the floor and threw it again on the ground, breaking the prize into pieces.

The crazy man then tried to drag Becker off the stage, but the competition's security intervened and took him backstage.

The chaos was reminiscent of the violence that erupted after New York's first-ever Miss Sri Lanka pageant in October 2022, and the controversy that erupted after cynics claimed the Miss USA 2022 pageant was wrongfully "rigged." in favor of Miss Texas.

But the competition coordinator Miss Gay Mato Grosso 2023 Malone Haenisch issued a statement about the incident, insisting that the pageant judges were fair in declaring Belini queen. He condemned Becker's husband's aggressive behavior.

“He did not consider the result fair and caused all this inconvenience and damage,” Hoenisch said.

“We strongly condemn the incident that occurred during the coronation of Miss Elected,” the event organizer continued, “when the partner of Miss Cuiaba, who placed second, invaded the stage and destroyed the crown.”

Hoenisch added: "We confirm the choice of the competition jury and sympathize with the chosen Miss, as well as Becker, as she is not responsible for the crazy behavior of third parties."

The statement goes on to note that "the competition's legal team has been informed" of the criminal incident and that "necessary legal action" will be taken.

Hoenisch then thanked Belini for winning the coveted title.

"The contest team congratulates Miss Varzea Grande, Emannuelli Belini, elected Miss Gay Mato Grosso 2023 on the night of May 27,” the organizer said. “We extend our best wishes to you and wish you a brilliant reign and that your activities may reflect the voice and desires of the LGBTQIAP+ community.”
