A man killed 7 people in the hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Germany: a Ukrainian woman was among the wounded
In Germany, a gunman shot dead seven people, including an unborn child, and then killed himself in a prayer hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in the city of Hamburg. Writes about it Reuters.
A 35-year-old German citizen and former member of Jehovah's Witnesses used a semi-automatic pistol, which he had legally owned since December, during the March 9 shooting, the Hamburg prosecutor said.
According to the prosecutor, the victims included four men and two women, as well as an unborn female child. The Hamburg police reported that his mother had survived.
Another 8 people were injured, including one Ukrainian. Now she is in the hospital. The Ukrainian consul in Hamburg intends to visit the victim, writes TSN.
The Consulate General of Ukraine in Hamburg establishes contact with the relatives of the wounded Ukrainian woman and cooperates with German law enforcement officers to investigate this crime.

Officials said the motive remains unknown, but a political cause has been ruled out. After the incident, the police searched the shooter's apartment and found 15 magazines with ammunition.
About 50 people were at an event at a Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses near Alsterdorf when the shooting began, authorities said.
When police arrived, the shooter ran upstairs and killed himself, officials said, praising police for their quick response, which they said prevented more deaths.
The nondescript building in a residential area has been used by the group as a meeting place for several years, according to local resident Annelore Pimüller.
Footage from another resident's phone shows a man outside the building shooting through a window. “I heard loud shots,” said the witness, who declined to give his name. “I saw a man shooting out the window with a firearm.”
Television cameras captured dozens of police cars and fire trucks blocking the streets; some people, wrapped in blankets, are being led onto a bus by emergency personnel.
“There were 12 continuous shots,” another witness told reporters. “Then we saw people being taken away in black bags.”

Germany has been shocked by the number of shootings over the past few years. In February 2020, a militant suspected of far-right ties shot dead nine people, including Turkish migrants, in the western city of Hanau before killing himself and his mother.
In October 2019, another gunman killed two people when he opened fire outside a synagogue in the eastern city of Galle on the Jewish holy day of Yom Kippur.
