In social networks, the man called himself the head of the special projects department of the “Kalashnikov” arms concern, but at the enterprise they say that only from time to time they resorted to his advice as an expert and experienced hunter.

Spiridonov ordered weapons for $ 2400 in a hotel room in Las Vegas and calmly received a box at the reception. They detained him at the airport of Los Angeles, from where he was trying to fly to Moscow. He is accused of not providing or providing false information at customs.

In correspondence with the dealer Spiridonov tried to convince him to sell the sight for a rifle. Since it happened after the slaughter in Las Vegas, the dealer announced the intentions of the Russian authorities. Spiridonov promised to take out the sight without the box, remove the serial number and said that he had bought it at the pawnshop.

According to the lawyer, Spiridonov pleaded guilty and, since he is a citizen of Russia, unrelated to the defense industry and the army, he hopes for a quick trial and a soft sentence.

However, prosecutors point out that the advanced weapons enthusiast could have acted in the interests of the Kalashnikov defense concern.

A representative of the Russian company, Oleg Ivanov, said that Kalashnikov knows nothing about Spiridonov’s trip to the United States, although they previously collaborated with him “on temporary contracts.”

A Russian citizen will stand trial in Los Angeles on March 28.

Note that the Kalashnikov concern came under sanctions The US Treasury Department in 2014 after the annexation of the Crimea to Russia, they were reinforced in 2015 in response to Moscow’s alleged involvement in the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine.
