Washington man kills wife and himself over medical bills
An elderly couple from Washington State was found dead on August 7. According to police, the reason was a suicide kill.
During the investigation, law enforcement officers found records showing that the couple could not pay huge medical bills, which was the reason for the incident, writes 7 News.
Brian Jones called 911 on the morning of 7 August and told the dispatcher that he was going to commit suicide, the County Sheriff’s office said in a statement.
An 77-year-old man said that he had prepared notes for the sheriff containing all the necessary information and instructions, adding: "We will be in the front bedroom." The dispatcher tried to detain the man on the line, but he hung up the phone.

Jones was discovered dead next to the body of his 76-year-old wife, Patricia and Whitney-Jones. Law enforcement officers believe that Jones shot his wife and then killed himself.
The notes left by the deceased spoke of Whitney-Jones '"serious health problems" and Jones' concern that the couple "did not have sufficient resources to pay for medical care."
“It is very tragic that one of our seniors found himself in such desperate circumstances where he felt that murder and suicide were the only option,” it said statement Sheriff Bill Elfo.
One of the notes also contained information about the closest relatives of the couple.
