Can I get high-quality medical care at Urgent Care?

Urgent Care urgent care facilities in the United States have long been criticized, with many people questioning the quality of care they provide.

According to officials, some of these centers really do not meet the emergency standards set in the United States, writes The New York Post.

“This continues to be our problem,” said Robert Mills, a spokesman for the American Medical Association (AMA).

He also stressed that some Urgent Care institutions operate "not in the public interest."

However, according to the AMA, patients appreciate the convenience of the Urgent Care centers and retail medical clinics, because they work late and bill at the time of the service, rather than sending it out after a few days or weeks, as regular clinics do.

“However, there is concern that some of these facilities do not have adequate communications with primary care physicians to communicate the services they provide, thereby potentially undermining the physician-patient relationship,” the AMA said in a statement.

Mills stressed that after a patient receives a service at the Urgent Care center or at a retail clinic, “to prevent fragmentation of patient care, you need to monitor communication between these institutions and the patient’s primary health care provider.”

Urgent Care responded by saying that the company is not trying to replace primary care physicians or emergency departments, but offers an alternative.
