Powerful processor and anti-crisis price: Apple introduced the new iPhone SE for $ 399

Apple Inc. introduced the second generation iPhone SE. Like the original iPhone SE, released in 2016, the new model is equipped with a processor from the most advanced iPhone at the moment, packed in a case from an older model. The new SE looks the same as the iPhone 8 of 2017, but inside it has the A13 Bionic processor, which is installed in the iPhone 11 and 11 Pro, writes «Medusa».

The case “like the iPhone 8” means that the iPhone has a 4,7-inch screen, a Home button with a Touch ID fingerprint sensor at the bottom of the front panel and a glass back cover. The case is made of aluminum and protected from moisture and dust. You can’t unlock your face with an iPhone - it does not have FaceID.

At a presentation for journalists on April 15, Apple emphasized that the new SE follows the same principles as the original model: affordability, good performance and small size. At the same time, over the past years, phones have become larger, and if earlier the most popular screen size among users was 4 inches (this was the iPhone SE), now it is 4,7 inches - the company has sold more than 500 million such iPhones.

IPhone SE has only one rear camera - 12 megapixels, the main one in iPhone 11. At the same time, the phone supports portrait mode for both the rear and front cameras, but it only works when taking pictures of people: using machine learning, an iPhone separates a person and blurs the background. Previously, portrait mode in a selfie camera was only on models with support for Face ID.

The iPhone SE main camera also supports the Smart HDR feature, which first appeared on the iPhone XS, and shoots 4K video at 60 frames per second.

Like the iPhone 8, the new iPhone supports wireless charging. It also introduced support for two SIM cards: physical and eSIM. iPhone SE will be available in black, white and red (with the front panel in all three versions will be black).

In the US, pre-order for a new model will open on April 17th. A model with 64 gigabytes of memory will cost $ 399. Versions with 128 and 256 gigabytes will also be available. Each buyer of a new iPhone gives Apple an annual subscription to the service with movies and TV shows Apple TV +.
