The newlyweds were 44-year-old Doug Simmons and 43-year-old Dedra McGee (now Simmons) from Chicago, Illinois.

However, according to the final count, the spouses realized that they had not kept their word.

“No one told me or wrote to me that they weren’t coming,” Simmons said. - That's all I asked. If you tell me you can't come, I'll understand. But not saying anything is disrespectful. I took it personally."

Simmons doesn't know what steps will be taken in the event of a delay in payment, but suggests Friendsgiving won't take place this year.
