A young man at an Indian airport tried to make his way to a flight to the USA, disguising himself as an 81-year-old man. It was a bold but unsuccessful attempt to add almost 50 years of age.

Airport security officers in India detained an 32-year-old man who tried to disguise himself as an 81-year-old passenger to get on an Air India flight to New York, writes Fox News.

The man identified by the Central Industrial Safety Force of India (CISF) as Jayesh Patel was detained by officials at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi on Sunday evening.

According to Times of India, Patel arrived at the airport in a wheelchair and in a turban to look like the person shown in the passport photograph that he brought with him. He also dyed his hair and beard a shade of gray to look more like a passenger from a photograph in a document in the name of Amrik Singh.

Officials didn't buy the disguise and asked "Singh" to undergo a security check. The guard then checked his passport and noticed a discrepancy between his date of birth - 1938 - and his appearance.

“It mentions the passenger's age as 81, but his appearance, skin texture and voice clearly indicate a much younger man,” the official said.

Patel was later transferred to the immigration service and charged with illegally emulating another person.

A day later it turned out that Patel, being an electrician in a small Indian town, was going to find a higher-paying job in his specialty in the United States. The police are also looking for people who helped Patel get his fake passport and change his appearance.
