Moldova did not let the Russian journalists
The film crew of the TV Center channel was denied entry into the territory of Transnistria through Moldova due to the “unclear purpose of the visit.” The channel's journalists were heading to Tiraspol to prepare a report on the life of the republic.
The film crew of the TV Center channel was unable to enter Transnistria through the territory of Moldova. The channel's correspondent Artem Shirokov, together with a cameraman and video engineer, was heading to the unrecognized republic to prepare a report on the life of Transnistria.
As Shirokov said in an interview, problems with crossing the border arose during passport control at the Chisinau airport. At some point, an additional Moldovan border service officer approached the film crew and began to inquire about the purpose of the trip. After this, the TV Center operator was detained.
“They completely searched him, found a TVC pass and said that he should be sent back. When I asked why this happened, I was told that he did not have enough documents confirming his residence and the purpose of his visit to Moldova. After our operator was sent back to Moscow, after some time they also informed me that I was also denied entry due to the lack of any supporting documents,” Shirokov said.
After that, the Moldovan border guards suggested that Russian journalists either wait for 12 hours to exchange a return ticket to Russia, or buy a new ticket. Currently, the film crew has already returned to Moscow.
We will remind, earlier Moldova banned entry to its territory Dmitry Kiselev and the author of the film about the occupation of the Crimea Andrei Kondrashov.
