Silently approached and shot in the head: an immigrant from Belarus was killed in Texas

On September 7, police discovered the body of a man at the Insta-Fuel Travel Center gas station in Buda, Texas. He turned out to be an immigrant from Belarus Alexander Bushter. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Writes about this My Texas Daily.

According to a GoFundMe page set up by a family friend, Alexander was a truck driver driving from San Antonio to Austin. When he stopped at a gas station, a man approached him and shot him in the head.

At that moment, Alexander was talking on the phone with a friend. The friend said that Alexander did not interact with the shooter in any way, did not even speak to him.

Using surveillance footage and a FLOCK camera, detectives identified the suspect's vehicle. Later in the evening, a patrol officer spotted the vehicle and attempted to stop it, leading to a short pursuit.

The suspect, identified as Omar Guadalupe Galvan-Ochoa, 27, of Buda, Texas, was subsequently arrested.

Galvan-Ochoa was charged with evading arrest with a vehicle, a third-degree crime, which carries a $100 bond, and murder, a first-degree crime. No bond has been set for the murder at this time and additional charges may be filed.
