'Mighty mice': why SpaceX will send genetically modified animals into space
The SpaceX rocket will send genetically modified mice to the International Space Station as part of a science project. Its purpose is to investigate the loss of muscle and bone function under conditions of low gravity. Writes about it "Voice of America".

The rocket launch took place on Thursday, December 5, from the cosmodrome in Florida. Capsules with research materials, including mice, will be delivered by the Ilona Mask SpaceX Falcon rocket to the ISS. Mooring with the ISS will take place on Sunday, December 8. Earlier, the launch was planned for December 4, but it was postponed due to powerful winds.
The mice that will be delivered to the ISS are often called "mighty." They have been genetically modified to accelerate muscle recovery. This study is being conducted by Jackson's Biomedical Laboratory in Maine.
