US polygamist arrested in Mexico with four wives

56-year-old American polygamist Osron William Black, wanted by US authorities, was detained in Mexico.

He is suspected of involvement in the death of three young Americans aged 15, 19 and 23 years, whose bodies were found in early September at one of the ranches in Mexico, reports Daily Mail.

Black was detained with 4 wives and 22 followers who did not have the proper documents to stay in Mexico.

Approximately 100 policemen took part in the operation to detain Black, they conducted raids in three houses and two ranches where Black and his followers lived. In one of the houses, stuffed 65 animals were found, as well as frozen animal carcasses. Black was accused of kidnapping and illegal possession of wildlife specimens.

The arrests were related to the investigation into the Sept. 3 killings of three U.S. citizens in Mexico. Police identified the victims only by their first names - Robert, Jesse and Michael, all of whom may have been believed to have the last name Black.

Osron William Black is a suspect in the murder of these three people, but he has not yet been charged in the case. The investigation suggests that the victims may have been members of his religious group, since they did not have an officially issued birth certificate. In addition, representatives of a religious organization who identified the bodies did not petition for their extradition to them for burial, which caused suspicion that the killings were committed as a result of a conflict within the community.

Black is a supporter of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, an organization that emerged after the Mormon Church rejected polygamy in 1890. She openly advocates polygamous marriage, and its members usually enter into legal marriages with their first wife and "spiritual marriages" with other wives.

The police thought it was suspicious that the sect members did not demand the body of the dead young men.

He fled to Mexico about 15 years ago with an 12-year-old girl he married in Arizona.
