Many killed, dozens injured: last weekend the United States was covered by a wave of executions

Missouri Shooting

Police in Kansas City (Missouri) said at least two people were killed and 15 injured as a result of shooting near the bar. Writes about this Fox News.

The shooting occurred shortly before midnight on Sunday, January 19. Police captain David Jackson said officers discovered a “chaotic scene” and were forced to call for help from all over the city.

A man and a woman were found dead. The police believe that the shooter was one of the victims. The shooter opened fire in turn of people waiting for the entrance to the bar, but the motive for the shooting was not immediately clear.

The shooter tried to break into a night club called 9ine Ultra Lounge when a fight broke out. The policeman reported that the shooter opened fire and was eventually shot dead by an armed guard.

During the investigation, the police found out that at least 15 more people were injured in the hospital. Three of them are in critical condition.

That night at the club was named as “Sold Out Sundays” and was the Kansas City team's victory night in the Super Bowl.

“This is simply a tragic end to such a wonderful day in Kansas City,” Jackson County Prosecutor Gene Peters Baker said. “It’s hard to stand here and talk about this tragedy on truly one of the best days Kansas City has seen in a long time.”

Texas Shooting

According to Texas authorities, the search for the shooter, who killed 2 people and injured another 5, continues, writes USA Today.

The police said that the officers were called at around 20:00 on January 19 to the Ventura club.

San Antonio Police Chief William McManus said there was a dispute between a group of people inside the club, one man pulled out a gun and started firing. One victim died at the scene, and six were taken to hospital, where shortly after arrival, another victim was declared dead.

The names of the victims have not been disclosed; the only thing known is that the person who died in the club was a man.

McManus said he is confident that the suspect will be identified and detained soon.

Utah Shooting

Grantsville (Utah) police said a teenager shot dead a woman and three children in the evening of January 17. The suspect accompanied the wounded man and was arrested at a local hospital. According to police, the wounded must survive, writes USA Today.

Police captain Ronda Fields said all the victims are somehow connected, adding that investigators are finding out exactly how. The teenager was charged with aggravated homicide.

“In terms of motive, we don’t know yet,” Fields said.

Governor Gary Herbert said state law enforcement officers helped the local police investigate.

“Parents and grandparents, hug your loved ones tightly. And remember that love, not hate, will heal people and families,” Herbert said.

Grantsville is a city of 10000 located about 30 miles west of Salt Lake City. Mayor Brent Marshall's job usually involves encouraging interaction with children and warning residents not to leave their cars in the park during snow storms.

This weekend, Marshall addressed the community.

“This is a tragic event. It affects everyone and it doesn’t matter if it’s a small town or a big one,” he said. “People know each other, and it has an emotional impact on everyone.”

Neighbor Lori Bach said she had known the family for 10 years, and they looked happy and sociable.

“I’m praying for the family that this happened to and for the survivors who are going to have a very difficult time,” Bach said. “They were a really, really good family.”

Patty Deakin Daley, Tooele County 411 Community Page Administrator, has launched an online fundraising for the family. A mother and her three minor children were killed, her husband was injured.

On January 19, more than $ 31 was raised.

“The family must now pay for the very expensive funeral and medical costs associated with this tragedy,” Deakin-Daly said in the post. “There will be a lot of expenses, including cleaning and repairs.”

The school district said the crisis group will provide advisory services to students.

“We are deeply saddened and shocked to hear about the events that occurred,” the district said in a statement. “We want to express our sincere condolences to those who suffered. It is important that we stay together, care for and support each other during this difficult time.”
