More: Representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora in the United States are collecting a mass rally in support of Nadezhda Savchenko, which is to be held under the walls of the Permanent Mission of Russia to the UN in New York.

“This protest is directed against the capture and illegal detention of Ukrainian officer and people’s deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Nadezhda Savchenko. Under an artificial pretext, she continues to be kept in prison in Russia since July 8, 2014, despite all existing norms of international humanitarian law,” the organizers noted in a message distributed on social networks.

They issued an appeal to all concerned to protest against the gross violation of Nadezhda’s rights and freedoms, as well as “to draw public attention to the violation of human rights by the Russian Federation.”

It is expected that the Ukrainian pilots Maria Savchenko, who was invited to New York to the UN headquarters, will take part in the action. In addition, a meeting with Nadezhda Savchenko’s lawyer Mark Feigin will take place.
