MIT offers free education for Ukrainian children: the program is dedicated to the memory of the deceased mathematician from Kharkov

Yulia's Dream is a free math enrichment and exploration program for outstanding high school students (grades 9-11) from Ukraine, reports Mit Mathematics.

"Yulia's Dream" is dedicated to the memory of Yulia Zdanovskaya, a 21-year-old graduate of the Kiev National University, silver medalist of the European Women's Mathematical Olympiad 2017, teacher of the "Teach for Ukraine" program, who was killed by a Russian missile in her hometown of Kharkiv. The program can help other Ukrainian boys and girls realize Yulia's dream.

As part of the program, students will meet online once a week in small groups to explore complex math topics outside of the school curriculum or work on math research projects under the guidance of academic tutors from graduate students in the MIT Department of Mathematics and MIT Mathematics majors. institute. The instruction will be available in Ukrainian, English and Russian.

Julia's Dream is an initiative under PRIMES, the MIT Program for Research in Mathematics, Engineering, and Science for High School Students. The working groups in the program will work in the same way as in PRIMES-USA, the remote part of PRIMES.

You can apply until April 12th. The application must include solutions to the 2022 introductory challenge. You can write your solutions in Ukrainian, Russian or English - in any language you choose.

We plan to complete the intake and start weekly meetings at the end of April. The program will run in the summer and fall of 2022 with a possible extension until spring 2023.
