Ministers of five countries ask to create a tribunal for the downed Boeing
The foreign ministers of Australia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Malaysia and Ukraine wrote an open letter calling for the establishment of a tribunal for UN for consideration of the case of a downed "Boeing."
“Such a tribunal will provide the highest level of transparency, impartiality and accountability,” the letter said in The Financial Times.
On July 15, Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands and Ukraine submitted to the Security Council UN draft resolution on the establishment of an international tribunal. Voting on this issue has not yet been. Russia said it opposes the creation of a tribunal. According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, this is "counterproductive."
Boeing was shot down over Ukraine 17 July 2014 of the year. The International Commission of Inquiry promised a final report in October 2015. The disaster killed 298 people.
