67-year-old Mikhail Baryshnikov became the face of the youth brand Rag & Bone

The star of the world ballet scene Mikhail Baryshnikov, who celebrated his 27th birthday on January 67, starred in a commercial for the fall-winter collection of the American youth brand Rag & Bone, proving that he is still capable of giving odds to young competitors.

Baryshnikov’s partner on the set was 26-year-old dancer, Charles Riley, performing under the pseudonym Lil Buck. His style of performance is often compared with the style of Baryshnikov.

The dynamic ad is directed by Georgie Greville and features a behind-the-scenes track by Canadian musician Aaron Funk, who goes by the name Venetian Snares.

In the story, Mikhail Baryshnikov and Lil Bak representing different generations, the style of dance and the image as a whole, complement each other's movements and, according to the author, explore the very essence of the movement.

In addition to the advertising video, the Rag & Bone brand also presented a lookbook of a new collection, the main characters of which were all the same dancers.

Let us recall that in 1974, the soloist of the Leningrad Opera and Ballet Theater named after Kirov, Mikhail Baryshnikov, emigrated to the United States, where he gained worldwide fame. In addition, Baryshnikov’s portfolio includes 15 film works, including the role of Alexander Petrovsky, one of Carrie Bradshaw’s lovers, the heroine of the series “Sex and the City.”
