Powerful winter storm with icy rain: after the Thanksgiving in the USA, the weather is getting worse
A powerful storm system turns Black Friday, along with the weekend after Thanksgiving, into a harsh winter with snowstorms and snow. Bad weather will rage over most of the 2000-mile (3 216 km) stretch from Nevada to the Upper Midwest and New England in the coming days and next week.
On Saturday, November 30, severe thunderstorms are possible from the southern plains to the bottom of the Mississippi River Valley, writes USA Today.
The National Weather Service warns that the total snowfall will exceed 8 inches (20 cm) for the Northern Rockies east of the Northern Plains, as well as for Minnesota, Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. In some places, snow drifts can exceed 18 inches (45,7 cm).
It is expected that on Sunday, December 1, when millions of holidaymakers will be returning home after Thanksgiving, weather conditions will be especially difficult.
Airlines for America, an aviation industry trading group, expects 3,1 million passengers. This weekend may be the busiest ever recorded in US air travel.

Severe mobility conditions persist over long stretches of Interstate 90 and 94, with Dakota, eastern Wyoming, and eastern Montana facing particularly severe conditions.

Until the storm ends, trips to these areas should be avoided. This is because workers will not be able to clear the road of snow drifts by Sunday or Monday.
As the storm moves east, on Saturday evening in some parts of the northeast, including northern Virginia and Pennsylvania, snow may fall, even wet snow, and freezing rain will pass.
The first Nor'east season in New York is expected to appear Sunday morning and may last until Tuesday, the National Weather Service in Albany reports. According to forecasts, in Dutchess County, a storm is a mixture of snow, freezing rain and sleet.

According to meteorologist meteorological service Joe Villany, Nor'east is defined as a moderate to severe rainfall that starts off the east coast and extends to the east of New England.
