Teddy bear got his head stuck in a plastic container: it took him 2 months to save him
A bear cub became too interested in a pet feeder and got its head stuck in a plastic container, where it remained for nearly two months before being freed by Tennessee Wildlife Services. Writes about this USA Today.

The curious baby is undergoing rehabilitation at the Appalachian Bear Rescue center.
According to the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (WRA), a resident near Chilhowee Lake first reported the cub's danger Aug. 14 when she spotted a mother bear and her four cubs on her porch. WRA Black Bear Support Biologist Janelle Musser responded to the report and immediately attempted to capture the bear.

Musser managed to lure the bear cub into a trap, but he was unable to enter due to a container stuck on his head. She moved the trap every time there was a new report of an encounter with a bear cub, and even tried using a different type of trap, but the bear began to avoid the trap, and all attempts were unsuccessful.
On October 3, a resident reported that a bear cub was in a tree, and Musser managed to shoot the animal with a tranquilizer.
“Shooting bears in trees is not standard practice and is only done in emergency situations,” Musser explained. “This bear cub could not survive in this condition.”
She removed the container from the baby's head.
Despite being in the container for a long time, the cub was not injured and was in relatively good condition, except for some damage to his ears, Musser said. She said the capture would not have been possible without the help of residents reporting sightings and allowing traps to be set on their properties.
The bear cub, named Juggles by Appalachian Bear Rescue, is now recovering from his ordeal at a rehabilitation center in Townsend, Tennessee. A rescue group takes in orphaned and injured black bear cubs in an effort to return them to the wild as quickly as possible.
Rescue officials took Juggles to the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine for a physical examination, where his ears were cleaned and treated and a large number of ticks were removed. Juggles was diagnosed with a urinary tract infection, likely caused by insufficient fluid intake, and was prescribed antibiotics.
“The cub is resting wonderfully,” Appalachian Bear Rescue wrote. “He eats well, takes his medications and sleeps in his own bed.”
This is not the first time this has happened, and it won't be the last, Tennessee wildlife officials warn. At this time of year, bears gain weight in preparation for winter; in the fall they feed up to 20 hours a day.
During this annual marathon, they need to consume 10 times more calories than usual - at least 20 calories per day. According to the Wildlife Conservation Agency, just one feeder filled with sunflower seeds or one garbage container overflowing with food scraps can provide a bear with a day's worth of calories.

Thus, garbage and animal food become extremely attractive to bears. In this case, the cause of the bear cub's problems was an automatic feeder left for pets.
