Medvedev said it's time to bring back the death penalty in Russia
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev announced the possible return of the death penalty for citizens in Russia. The edition told in more detail "Ukrainian Truth".
On February 25, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe decided to suspend the right of the Russian Federation to be represented in two bodies of the Council of Europe - in the Committee of Ministers itself and in PACE.
The Russian authorities reacted negatively to this, and threaten to restore the death penalty in the country.

“A good opportunity, after the suspension of the Russian Federation’s membership in the Council of Europe, to restore a number of important institutions to prevent particularly serious crimes in the country - such as the death penalty,” Medvedev said.

He added that the death penalty in the country can be used "for the most dangerous criminals." It should be noted that in Russia the justice system is a big question, given the enormous number of convicted people who are thrown into prison for political reasons, because they are not beneficial to the Putin regime.
