Bear stole an Amazon package from his Connecticut porch: video of the incident went viral

Bear stole an Amazon parcel of toilet paper from a resident of Bristol, Connecticut. The video of the moment of the theft went viral. The edition told in more detail News Week.

Christine Levine filmed a bear carrying a parcel from the porch using video surveillance. Levine then posted the video to her Facebook page, which immediately went viral.

“Amazon delivered the package maybe five minutes before the theft, and I received a notification from my security camera. And then I got a second notification five minutes later, and I was taken aback because I didn’t expect to see a bear in the driveway,” Levine said.

A few hours later, Levine found a parcel in her neighbor's yard.

“It was a really fun day,” Levine said.

Now the video is gaining popularity, users do not get tired of making fun of the bear and sympathizing with the victim. Over 200 people have shared the video, about 100 have commented, and about 400 have responded.

“Amazon has come up with new ways to make money. The driver delivers your package and then a trained bear steals it so you have to buy another one,” one commenter wrote under the video.

Bears feel comfortable in residential areas throughout the year.

Recently, three teenagers from Minnesota - 17-year-old Haley Nelson; 15-year-old Dori Arndt; and 17-year-old Hayley Nyberg, while vacationing in the area, saw a black bear walking around the area. Nelson said she thought it was a dog, but it was actually a bear.

Paul Smithson, manager of the Wood Lake Nature Center in Richfield, Minnesota, said the area is seeing an increase in bear sightings. He also said that sightings usually take place just before or just after hibernation because the bears are looking for food.

“The area has a lot of green space and connections to other green spaces,” Smithson said. “Bears are looking for food and may be in the area.”
