The mother of three children died trying to stop a client who did not pay for a manicure

The mother of three children in Las Vegas died after trying to prevent a client from leaving without paying 35 dollars for a manicure, police said.

Nhu Nguyen, 53, a mother and grandmother of two, was working at Crystal Nails & Spa on West Flamingo Road last Saturday afternoon when a customer decided to leave without paying because her credit card couldn't be read.

The client then told Nguyen that he would take the cash in the car, but instead drove away on a black Chevrolet Camaro car, which, as reported by the police, was stolen about three weeks ago.

Nguyen tried to grab the broken rear window of the car, but the client was not particularly scared and dragged the woman holding onto the car in the parking lot before escaping. This happened in front of civil husband Nguyen, who is also the co-manager of the salon.

“My wife ran out and tried to stop her, but then she drove forward,” Chung told the newspaper. “She kept pressing on the gas and my wife fell, but she kept going and pulled her.”

“I tried to hold the car, but I’m not Superman,” he told the newspaper. “She ran off for $35 and killed my wife—ran over my wife.”

The woman was taken to the university medical center, where she died from injuries sustained during the incident, police said.

Meanwhile, an abandoned car was found in a nearby residential complex. Investigators were still trying to identify the suspect, who was described as a white woman aged 20.

“She was a hard worker,” Chang said. “That’s all she knows how to do.” She's a workaholic...She worked every day, every day, seven days a week."

An employee at another store in the mall said that Nguyen was a dedicated mother.
