A mother from Arizona mocked 7 adoptive children for the sake of the show on YouTube

The Maricopa city police stated that the arrest followed after it became known that the children were locked in the closet for several days without access to food, water or the bathroom, they were sprayed with pepper spray, and also forced to bathe in a bath with ice. The children were taken out of the Hackney house by social services and underwent a medical examination and forensic examination, writes Time.

Hackney is charged with seven cases of child abuse, five unlawful detention centers and two child abuse points. A woman is held in prison without the right to bail. Police said Hackney’s adult sons were arrested due to the fact that they did not report the abuse of their mother and children.

The woman denies ill-treatment, stating that she used spanking and forced children to stand in the corner as a form of punishment. According to her, she took no further action.

The police inspected the woman’s home after receiving a call about possible abuse of children from Hackney’s biological daughter. The officers found the child in a crowded diaper in the closet, and also found six other children who, by their assessment, looked exhausted, were pale and had dark circles under their eyes.

The children told the police that they were hungry and thirsty. They told the officers that their mother beat them, sprayed pepper spray on their faces and genitals and made them stand in the corner with their hands up for several hours if they made mistakes during the recording of the YouTube video.

According to the police, bullying by the mother began when the children forgot the words of their roles or did not follow Hackney’s instructions during video recording. The “Fantastic Adventures” YouTube channel, which is still available, has more than 800 000 subscribers and more than 250 million views. The children said that their mother took them from school so that they could shoot the series, and that they had not been to school for years.

YouTube stated that the channel was demonetized as soon as the company learned of Hackney’s arrest.

“We take security very seriously on YouTube. We work closely with leading child safety organizations and others in our industry to protect young people. When we become aware of serious allegations of this nature, we take action, which may include suspending monetization or, upon completion of the investigation, terminating channels,” a YouTube spokesperson said.
