Mass shooting in a Florida nightclub: two people killed, dozens injured

Police are asking for help in finding who opened fire at the Florida club early Sunday morning, May 30, killing at least two people and wounding at least 20 more, said Miami-Dade Police Department Director Alfredo Ramirez. CNN.

Shortly after midnight, a white Nissan Pathfinder pulled up to the El Moul banquet hall near Hialeah, three people “got out of the car with machine guns and pistols and started shooting randomly at the crowd,” Ramirez said.

“There were 20 to 25 victims with gunshot wounds, two of whom died at the scene,” he said.

Five victims were taken to a hospital in Hollywood, Florida. Two of them are in critical condition, according to a spokesman for the Curting Baldwin Hospital.

According to Ramirez, the ballroom and billiard club were rented out for a concert on Saturday night, May 29.

Angelica Green said her son and her nephew were among the injured. The son was wounded in the abdomen and is in a stable condition after the operation.

“However, my nephew was shot four times,” she said. “Once in the abdomen and three times in the leg.”

Greene said her son is her only child.

“He was just going out with his cousin to celebrate the weekend and they hadn’t even entered the club yet,” she said. “They said the three guys they spotted started shooting for some reason.”

The Miami-Dade Police Department asks anyone with information about the shooters or their whereabouts to contact the authorities.

“These are cold-blooded killers who shoot indiscriminately into crowds and we will seek justice,” Ramirez wrote on Twitter. “My deepest condolences to the families of the victims.”

Camping World TV presenter and CEO Markus Lemonis is offering a $ 100 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the mass murder, the businessman wrote on Twitter.

The Police Director thanked Lemonis for his offer and reminded the public that informants can remain anonymous by contacting Crime Stoppers.

“We need our county to provide more information,” Ramirez said.

“This type of gun violence needs to stop. Every weekend it's the same thing. This is a targeted attack. It’s definitely not a coincidence,” Ramirez said.

On the same day, he tweeted that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Miami (ATF) added an additional $ 25 to the Lemonis bounty, bringing the total to $ 000.

On Friday, May 28, another shooting in the Miami area killed at least one person and injured six others. The mass shooting took place in the Wynwood area. Police said they are looking for a silver Nissan Maxima, which may have been involved in the shooting.

Florida Governor Ron DeSantis expressed condolences to the victims of Sunday's attacks on May 30.

“We mourn the loss of two victims and pray for the recovery of the more than 20 people injured at the El Mula Banquet Hall near Hialeah,” he wrote. “We are working with local authorities to bring those responsible to justice.”
