Manafort secretly blackened Tymoshenko in the American and Israeli media

American political technologist Paul Manafort secretly denigrated Yulia Tymoshenko, spreading slander about her involvement in the murder order and false accusations that she supports anti-Semitism. This is stated in the text of the prosecution of the special prosecutor Robert Muller, reports Voice of America.

Manafort placed custom articles in the Western media. The slander spread in the interests of the 2012-2013 government of Ukraine and its goal was to deprive Tymoshenko of the support of the US administration, headed by Barack Obama at the time.

“In October 2012, Manafort organized a scheme with the goal, as he wrote in one of the letters, of convincing the “Jews on Team Obama” to pressure the administration to abandon its support for Tymoshenko and support Yanukovych,” the indictment notes.

The document says that Manafort bribed lawyers, paid for custom articles, and tried to negotiate with European and Israeli politicians to push his position. He gave orders to his lobbyists in the United States to write and distribute articles that would discredit Yulia Tymoshenko. They had to be pushed through “without leaving fingerprints,” the charges say. The political strategist admitted that his goal was to “denigrate Tymoshenko.”

“Manafort sought to undermine U.S. support for Tymoshenko by spreading information that an Obama administration official supported anti-Semitism by collaborating with Tymoshenko, who in Ukraine had formed a political alliance with a party sharing anti-Semitic views,” the indictment says.

He also privately negotiated with Israeli officials to release statements supporting the information he was pushing. His goal was to convey to the US Administration the opinion that “the Jewish community will get even with Obama during the elections if he does nothing.”

Let us recall that it was the discrediting of Yulia Tymoshenko, as the investigation showed, that was one of the main tasks of Paul Manafort during his last period with the Party of Regions and Viktor Yanukovych.

Hundreds of millions of dollars were spent to discredit the leader of Batkivshchyna. Western politicians were bribed with this money, fictitious websites and pseudo-analytical centers were created. They created fake stories about Tymoshenko, which were then replicated in thousands of custom publications – both in Ukraine and abroad.

The trial in the US also revealed evidence of team collaboration Paul Manafort with Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, towho has been repeatedly accused of using “dirty” technologies developed by Manafort for Yanukovych against his competitors.
