A Kentucky man was arrested for a Halloween installation that was deemed a public safety threat.

A Kentucky man was arrested for creating a Halloween installation in front of his home: several body bags with signs bearing the names of local officials, writes Global News.

In Stanton, Kentucky, near Lexington, 58-year-old Stefan Marcum was arrested for his unusual Halloween decorations. His installation raised concerns among authorities. Five mannequins, wrapped in black body bags, were displayed in his driveway. The mannequins were emblazoned with the words "District Court Judge," "District Attorney," "Mayor's Sister," "Zoning Manager," and "Mayor."

Marcum was arrested after refusing to remove the installation.

He had previously clashed with city officials for failing to comply with zoning regulations required to maintain water, sewer, and electrical services for his home. In September, a judge fined Marcum $250 and gave him 30 days to correct the violations. Shortly after this decision, he installed his mannequin, which authorities deemed threatening. One of the mannequins, labeled "District Court Judge," had a rope wrapped around its neck.

Marcum was charged with intimidation of a witness in a legal proceeding and third-degree terroristic intimidation. His preliminary hearing was postponed because the judge presiding over the case is handling a zoning dispute and has recused himself.

Now, as local publication WKYT reports, Marcum is in custody with bail set at $5000.

Powell County Judge-Executive Eddie Barnes emphasized that such actions are unacceptable: "If you want to express your opinion, don't do it in a way that threatens others. The sight of these figures with the names of officials is deeply disturbing."

Authorities have called for such incidents to be treated with due seriousness to avoid threats to public safety.
