McCain bequeathed to the coffin with his body carried the Russian opposition

The late US Senator John McCain independently planned his funeral and chose the Russian opposition leader Vladimir Kara-Murzu Jr. to be one of those who would carry his coffin at the farewell ceremony.

The funeral of the American politician will be held on September 1 at the National Cathedral of Washington, writes “Radio Liberty".

The request of Senator Kara-Murze Jr. conveyed their mutual friend with McCain.

“I agreed, of course, and it would be an honor that would cause the deepest sadness that anyone could imagine,” a Russian oppositionist commented on the deceased’s request.

In addition to Kara-Murza, the coffin with the body of the senator will be carried by former US Vice President Joe Biden, former Democratic Senator Rass Feingold, former Secretary of Defense William Cohen, actor Warren Beatty, and some other friends of the late politician.

McCain met repeatedly with Kara-Murza, deputy chairman of Open Russia and head of the Boris Nemtsov Foundation for Freedom. He called him his friend, and when Kara-Murza was treated after poisoning in 2017, delivered a prayer for his health in the Senate, accusing Russian President Vladimir Putin of trying to poison him. On the death of McCain, Kara-Murza wrote a column in The Washington Post, in which he called the senator “a true leader and friend.”

Recall, Republican Senator John McCain died on August 26 from brain cancer, he was 81 year.
