Russian singer Anna Kolodko passed to the second round of the American Voice
The protege of Russian pop divas, ex-participant of the popular show “Star Factory 7” Anna Kolodko went to the second round of the famous American show The Voice.
As a 17-year-old student at the Gnessin Music College, Anna got to go to the “Star Factory” show, where five unknown talents live under one roof and learn the wisdom of the profession from superstars. Kolodko's mentors were Konstantin and Valery Meladze, but she did not get enough votes to remain in the show. However, one of the jury members, Alla Pugacheva, was inspired by her performance, “gave her the crown” and invited her to perform as part of her tour. Alla named the singer Anna-Maria. In Russia, it is customary for stars to name their successors and act as their mentors. For some time, “Anna-Maria” pursued a solo career with the help of her famous mentor, but she could not forget Alla Borisovna’s advice to study abroad. For several months, Anna saved up money from participating in holidays and corporate events and at the same time prepared to enter the New York School of Musical, where her vocals were compared to the voice of Bette Midler. However, soon after admission, Anna realized that Broadway was not for her, and applied for a transfer to the famous American Institute of Music. A month later, Anna moved to Los Angeles, where she continued her studies.
In July of this year, a certified singer got to casting The Voice and went to the second round. Casting on this world famous television show is an event in itself. Only in the USA the number of artists willing and dreaming to take part in it exceeds millions.
“I really didn’t even hope that this could happen,” says Kolodko.
