For ranking in the study used data from Google Maps and the Federal Air Transport Agency.

After the Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, the top five largest US airports were:

1. Portland International Airport (Oregon);
2. San Diego International Airport;
3. Salt Lake City International Airport;
4. Honolulu International Airport.

The survey also showed the top five worst US airports. All 3 airport in New York were considered the worst.

1. La Guardia Airport was named the worst of the worst;
2. John F. Kennedy International Airport;
3. Newark Liberty International Airport;
4. O'Hare International Airport (Chicago);
5. Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
