Plane flying from Texas hit by severe turbulence: 7 people hospitalized
Seven people on a Lufthansa flight from Texas to Germany were rushed to hospital on March 1 after the plane experienced "severe turbulence" and was diverted to Washington, D.C. airport, officials said. Writes about it NBC News.

Lufthansa Flight 469 was flying from Austin, Texas to Frankfurt when it encountered turbulence and landed at Dulles International Airport outside Washington, Virginia.
According to the agency, the plane landed safely at the airport at 21:12.

“Seven passengers were taken to hospitals,” the airline said in a statement. Their condition has not been disclosed.
The crew reported severe turbulence at about 37 feet (000 km) while the plane was over Tennessee, the Federal Aviation Administration said. The FAA will investigate.
Turbulence, which the National Weather Service describes as uneven air movement resulting from eddies and vertical currents, sometimes sends passengers to hospitals and leads to unexpected landings.

In December, 25 people on a Hawaiian Airlines flight were injured after an airliner en route from Phoenix to Honolulu hit turbulence. Eight people were injured in June during a flight from Florida to Tennessee that was forced to land in Alabama.
