Forest fires reached Hollywood Hills: famous movie studio evacuated
California firefighters struggled all night with a fire that broke out Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles, California, near the famous Warner Bros. studio. Studios in the Hollywood Hills.
By 18: 30 on Saturday, the Barham Fire spread to 34 acres and was localized to 15%, according to a statement by the Los Angeles Fire Department, writes Time.
According to the agency, none of the civilians was injured, although one firefighter was taken to the hospital after being injured in his arms and legs, not life-threatening.

The city's fire department said it had stopped the fire from spreading and was able to save the buildings, noting that none of them were "no longer at risk."

LAFD Assistant Chief John Drake, who supervised firefighters, said "preliminary indications" suggest there were "no homeless encampments at or near the location of the fire."

No official evacuation orders were issued, but "people living closest to the fire who were affected by smoke were directly contacted and encouraged to take shelter in their area of residence," the LAFD said in a statement earlier Saturday afternoon. At least one person who identified themselves as working at Warner Bros. said they voluntarily evacuated their studio.

More than 230 LAFD employees, five helicopters and two aircraft were dispatched to contain the fire.
A fire in the Hollywood Hills began just a few weeks after a series of much more dangerous forest fires broke out in California, prompting Governor Gavin Newsom to declare a state of emergency.
