Cruise ship hit by storm: 100 passengers injured
Passengers on the Saga Cruises cruise ship Spirit of Adventure were injured in a storm. The publication told more about the incident USA Today.

About 100 of the approximately 1000 guests on board were injured after the Spirit of Adventure's propulsion safety system activated while sailing through the Bay of Biscay, causing the ship to veer to the left and stop. This area, located off the coast of France and Spain, is known for its rough seas.

“The ship remained safe at all times, but due to the effects of the storm, some guests were injured,” a Saga Cruises spokesperson said in a statement. “Everyone received immediate medical attention.”
The ship remained in place to wait out the bad weather.
“It was very scary,” said passenger Ian Bendall. “I’m not one to get scared easily, but it was very dramatic.”
Most of the injuries were minor, but five people were seriously injured and required treatment at the ship's onboard medical facilities. According to CruiseMapper, the ship was completing a two-week cruise from Portsmouth, England, to the Canary Islands.

“While the weather was clearly beyond our control, we would like to offer our sincere apologies to all those affected who have now returned home safely,” a company spokesman said.
The company representative did not say whether compensation will be paid to the guests.
