Cruise companies in the USA have received permission to fly to Cuba

Cruise companies Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line have received official permission from Cuban authorities to organize cruises to this country from Miami, Florida.

Royal Caribbean has not yet named the exact date for the start of such cruises, nor did they announce their details, but promised that the first tourists would be able to go on cruise ships to the island of Freedom in the near future, reports USA Today.

At the same time, Norwegian Cruise Line said that the first flight to Cuba with a stop in Havana will depart from Miami on March 7, this will be Marina, designed for 1 250 passengers.

The company also said that in the spring a few more ships will go on cruises to Cuba, some of the trips will suggest a stop in Havana for a few days.

These cruises will be among the first between Cuba and the United States for decades.

The first was the Adonia liner (704 passenger), which began to carry tourists from the United States to Cuba in May 2016, but Carnival Corp., which owns the vessel, announced its intention to stop cruising this route in 2017.

Recall that there were no diplomatic relations between the United States and Cuba and no official transport connections for more than 50 years, until in 2015, 44 th United States President Barack Obama did not accept decision to lift the embargo and normalize relations with the island state.
