“This was exactly the case that led to the allegations against Manafort and the leaking of this information to the American media during the 2016 election,” he said.

This makes the 2016 meeting in January one of the earliest documented attempts to build the currently debunked Trump and Russia conspiracy narrative and one of the first in which the Obama administration participated.

Nazar Kholodnitsky, Ukraine’s chief prosecutor for the fight against corruption, said that he had attended some, but not all, meetings in January 2016 in Washington, and could not recall specific topics of discussion regarding interference with elections.

But he said he soon saw in Ukraine evidence of the country's political interference in the US elections. Kholodnitsky said the main evidence against Manafort - a ledger showing payments he received from the Party of Regions - had been in the possession of Ukrainian authorities since 2014, but was unexpectedly leaked to the media in May 2016 by the US-friendly NABU after Manafort was appointed chairman Trump campaign.

“Someone kept this book secret for two years and then released it to the public and the American media. This was extremely suspicious,” noted Kholodnitsky, who, according to him, had previously given direct instructions to the NABU investigator not to leak this information to the press.

“I have ordered the detectives not to give anything to the media in connection with this case. Instead, they defied my orders and published one or two pages of this book about Paul Manafort. Konstantin Kulik, deputy head of the International Relations Office of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine, said that soon after the Ukrainian authorities returned from the meeting in Washington, a clear signal was given to help the Americans in the Party of Regions.

“Yes, there was a lot of talk about the need for help, and then the book surfaced in the public sphere,” he recalls.

Kulik said that the Ukrainian authorities have evidence that other Western leaders, such as the former Obama White House adviser Gregory Craig, also received money from Yanukovich’s party. But the Americans were not interested in them: “They just discussed Manafort. That was all they wanted. Nobody else interested them. ”

Manafort joined Trump's 29 March 2016 headquarters, and on May 19 2016 was appointed chairman of his election campaign.

NABU merged the Party of Regions book in 29 media in May 2016, which ultimately led to the dismissal of Manafort in August 2016.

The Ukrainian court in December concluded that the publication of the pages of this book was an illegal attempt to influence the elections in the United States. This is evidenced by an audio recording, in which a man with a voice similar to the voice of the head of NABU, Artem Sytnik, admits that the information flow occurred in order to help Clinton.

According to Telizhenko, another topic raised at the January 2016 meeting concerned Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company that is under investigation in Ukraine for corruption and money laundering. This the firm in 2014-2015 paid the son of then Vice-President Joe Biden, Hunterwho was listed as a member of the board of directors and a consultant, more than 3 million dollars.

According to Telizhenko, US officials told the Ukrainians that they would prefer Kiev to stop the Burisma investigation and allow the FBI to continue it. Ukrainians did not agree. Zelensky is the new target of the democrat conspiracy
