Coronavirus in New York: how one man infected more than 50 people

On March 2, a resident of the city of New Rochelle became the first patient in the state of New York to have coronavirus confirmed. State Governor Andrew Cuomo is now trying to catch up, the source said. Recall that on March 2, a 50-year-old lawyer working near the Central Station in Manhattan received a positive result for the virus and was hospitalized at the Irving Medical Center at Columbia University (New York-Presbyterian / Columbia University Irving Medical Center).

The governor later said that this man was the first in New York to have discovered a coronavirus. “This means that officials were unable to trace the source of his infection,” the report said.

Just two days after the man’s positive results, on March 4, his 20-year-old son, a student at New York's Yeshiva University, fell ill. University officials said he had symptoms of the virus.

The wife and 14-year-old daughter of the lawyer also passed the test and received a positive result on the same day.

Also, a neighbor who brought a lawyer to the hospital contracted the coronavirus. And a lawyer friend. The friend’s wife, two sons and daughter also passed a positive test on the same day.
