Former US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton blamed James Komi, director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), for her defeat at the presidential election.
She announced this on November 12 during a conference call with investors on her election campaign, according to Reuters.
She recalled that all polls during the election race predicted victory for her. But, as a result, the Republican candidate, Donald Trump, won the elections in most states, which ensured his victory in the whole country, although Clinton received a majority vote.
What was unexpected was that the former secretary of state lost in Wisconsin, which last supported a Republican candidate in 1984. The situation is similar in Michigan, where Donald Trump also won, although the last time a Republican was supported there was in 1988.
In this regard, Clinton believes that the turning point that led to her defeat, was James Comy’s letter to Congress that The FBI is resuming an investigation against her due to electronic correspondence while she was secretary of state. This document was made public 11 days before the vote.
A week later, Komi stated that The FBI did not change its conclusion that Clinton should not be held criminally liable due to correspondence..
However, the politician noted that damage to its image had already been done to voters.
Clinton added that the Donald Trump team was able to use both of these FBI statements against her.
The first letter was used as evidence of her crimes and unfitness for state work, and the second was a reason to accuse her of being a part of the “dishonest” state system, Clinton pressed the FBI and refused to prosecute the politician.
The director of the FBI has not commented on this statement.
In total, Clinton Headquarters and the US Democratic Party received about $ 900 million donations to the campaign from 3 million people.
