A restaurant customer is stunned by the bartender with a tip amount

A curious incident occurred at the Blue 44 restaurant, located in the American capital, a few days ago. A regular customer of the establishment who came for lunch, ordered meat stew “gumbo” and two beers, and after lunch was incredibly surprised by the tip he left.

At first, everything went fairly ordinary, a simple lunch, a regular restaurant. Why, only the client was not quite normal - and the end of this dinner was very unexpected. In the process of paying a bill (93 dollar) a stranger stunned the bartender serving him with a tip. Instead of 93 dollars, 2093 was paid. Extra 2000 dollars were tip.

The figure was not some kind of mistake or absurd accident, it was an amount clearly pronounced out loud several times. To prove his words and to explain his action, the client left a few handwritten words on the receipt he received: “Thank you for the gumbo. The owner gets $1000, the chef gets $500, and the bartender gets $500.”

Gumbo is a traditional American dish. It is a thick soup with stewed meat, rice, boiled vegetables, chicken or seafood (oysters and shrimp). No one knows whether the gumbo in this restaurant was so tasty or whether the client was simply overwhelmed by a wave of sudden generosity.
