About moving to the USA

I always wanted to go to the USA. I thought to go after graduation, but my parents were against it. Therefore, I entered the Karaganda State University at the Faculty of Law, but then decided to continue to study further in the United States. Maybe films influenced me so much or YouTube. I was wondering how people live, I wanted to learn more about their culture, worldview.

About medical education

I started looking for universities. I have always been interested in medicine, I love to read scientific articles. And I thought, why not go to study at the doctor. But in order to study as a doctor, you must first obtain a bachelor of science degree, and then you can go to study as a doctor by specialization in a specialized medical school. It's like in Kazakhstan - first comes general medicine, and then - narrow specialization. But getting into medical schools is hard.

I want to be a nurse

I want to be a nurse. Almost every second person dreams of this, realizing that this is good money. But enrolling in nursing education - nursing - also a difficult process.

Admission process

If you are planning to enroll, the sooner you submit your documents, the better. It is advisable to do this at least a year in advance. Essays and letters of recommendation play a big role. Since I interned at a law firm that is recognized throughout the world, I had their recommendations. Recommendations can be given by teachers and the school director. Of course, all documents must be in English and notarized.

To enter a nurse, you must pass the entrance exams. Initially, I drove to Seattle, where I had to have an interview. It was necessary to pass IELTS or TOEFL and the test in mathematics. I took courses, but it turned out that they do not accept international students at nursing and after graduation I would not become a nurse. A similar situation was in many other universities.

I decided not to waste time and started looking for universities in other states where I would be accepted as an international student for nursing. Because if you do not maintain your status, then problems can arise and you can be expelled from the country. In this regard, New York was a loyal city, so I easily managed to enter. And I am glad that I study according to the program I wanted.

Disciplines

Medical education is based on a credit system. Now I have chemistry, mathematics, biology. And before turning to anatomy classes, for example, I need to pass these three disciplines. This semester, I took psychology, art history, communicationsthat is, disciplines that are required.

The most interesting thing is that English here is also a compulsory subject at all stages of education for all students. As part of this course, you read works and write essays on them. It is important to write competently, but not too abstrusely, because they may suspect that it was not you who wrote it. Therefore, the simpler you write, the better.

Exams

Before the exam can give the following task: you need to write all the definitions of the four chapters of the textbook. But books are expensive here, and not everyone has them. Libraries here do not distribute books for free, they need to be bought, and one book costs at least 100 dollars. On Amazon, you can take a book on the 3 month, it will cost at least 70 dollars.

Exam tasks here are interesting. For example, in psychology, as a final test, you should write an essay on a specific topic. Then this essay is checked for plagiarism, here with this strictly. If you take information from somewhere and do not indicate the author, then your essay will be canceled, and the fact that you walked throughout the semester and earned marks will not matter. With copyright here strictly, for violation may even be excluded.

Another examination task may be this: you need to read a scientific article on a particular topic and write your opinion about it or go and listen to a lecture and answer questions to it.

According to the history of art you need to go to the museum and write what you think about a particular work of art from the point of view of a connoisseur that the author wanted to express. The tasks are very creative, interesting.

Teachers give only 25% information, and the rest 75% you have to look for yourself. You need to be prepared for the fact that there will be unexpected questions that were not on the list, but you must know the answer. The teacher expects you to study all day.

At the end of four years of study, I will pass the license exam. Since you can work only with a license.

Practice

You can study for two years and take a year of practice. Of course, just because no one will allow you to patients, you need to get a special permit. The practice is paid, but you will have to pay tax.

On the status of a medical worker

The nurse is almost at the same level with the doctor, they have high salaries, so many people want to study for the nurse. Here doctors and lawyers are valued. But you need to study lawyer for at least eight years to become a professional.

About plans

I plan not to stop and develop further - to work as a nurse and in parallel to study as a doctor. I would like to be an endocrinologist or a pediatrician.

I still have three years to study. Whether I will return to Kazakhstan is an open question. I like it here.
