Kamala Harris threatened Russia with 'unprecedented sanctions' in case of aggression against Ukraine
US Vice President Kamala Harris said that in the event of Russia's military aggression against Ukraine, Washington will apply tough and unprecedented sanctions against Russia. BBC.

“We clearly understand that Russia should not violate the sovereignty of Ukraine, and we have defended and are defending its territorial integrity. We are working with our allies in this regard, and we have been very clear that we are ready to impose sanctions that we have not imposed before,” the vice president said.
She refused to clarify what kind of sanctions are in question and whether the sanctions of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, will personally apply.

On November 18, Putin asked the Russian military to maintain “a certain tension” at the Russian borders “so that it would not occur to them to start some kind of unnecessary conflict on our western borders.”
On December 7, US President Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin held a video meeting, during which they discussed the situation around Ukraine. President Biden warned Putin about “economic measures” against Russia and increasing defense assistance to Ukraine in the event of aggression.
The Kremlin noted that Vladimir Putin argued that Kyiv was “dismantling” the Minsk agreements and demanded legal guarantees of NATO’s non-expansion to the East.
At the same time, both sides agreed to continue communication across Ukraine.
On December 17, the Russian Foreign Ministry published a draft agreement with the United States and NATO countries, in which it proposed to legally formalize NATO's refusal to further expand eastward and to accept Ukraine into its ranks.
Moscow also demands the withdrawal of troops and weapons of the “old members” of NATO from the territory of the new members of the alliance. Countries such as Poland or the Baltic countries that joined the bloc after the collapse of the USSR.
