Fireballs were spotted over Los Angeles: it turned out that it was not SpaceX, but not aliens either

Early on the morning of April 2, local television news broadcasts reported fireballs streaking through the skies of Los Angeles, reports Deadline.

A fast-moving cluster of lights was visible over much of the region around 1:30 a.m. The recording shows a group of luminous objects sweeping across the sky.

Eyewitnesses suggested that this was a cluster of meteorites or some kind of object that disintegrated when falling to Earth.

There were suggestions that the lights could be associated with the launch of a SpaceX rocket. It happened on the evening of April 1 at Vandenberg Space Force Base on the Central Coast.

Such launches often create brilliant scenes in the local sky. But this launch occurred around 19:30 p.m., long before the mysterious lights appeared.

By noon on April 2, SETI Institute experts said that the objects in the sky were the consequences of the landing of the Chinese orbital module Shenzhou-15. It was launched into space in November 2022 with three astronauts who spent six months at the Tiangong space station.

The module re-entered the Earth's atmosphere on April 2.
