Californian who won $ 448 million in Powerball reveals how he will spend money
California resident Jeff Lindsay was the lucky winner of the seventh largest jackpot in the history of the lottery Powerball worth $ 447,8 million
Lindsay decided to take the entire winnings in one amount, which after deducting all taxes amounted to $ 279,1 million, the site says California Lottery.
He refused a photo with a happy check and a television interview, but told how he intended to spend the amount won, in a written statement.
“We are not public people and do not want to change that and become public figures, so we ask people to value and respect our privacy,” the winner said.
Lindsay noted that the unexpected win will be the financial basis for the life of his family now and her next generations in the future.
“To help us navigate the money management process, we have engaged a number of financial, legal and other advisors to help us make the best decisions. We plan to work closely with our team of advisors to determine how to properly manage and invest this newfound wealth so it can provide for our family for many generations to come,” the winner said in a statement.
The lucky ticket, on which all six numbers matched, was sold at the store in June Marietta Liquor & Deli in the small Californian town of Menifee.
Lindsay said he originally came to the store to buy scratch tickets with instant winnings, and when he won the money, he decided to use his winnings to buy 10 tickets for the raffle. Powerballspent on 20 dollars.
